The word Torah comes from the root word (yod-resh-hey) meaning "to shoot an arrow" or "to hit the mark."
In the Old Testament, Torah in Hebrew is always translated by the Greek word nomos no,mos.
I like to think of it as the Operating Manual for the planet earth.
In the most general sense of the term, Torah can be understood as simply as instruction about how to live rightly before God and with mankind.
The basic guiding principle is to imitate our Heavenly Father. John 14:9
The instructions of our Heavenly Father are complete, no missing parts and provide what's needed to return a soul who has gone astray.
The witness of Yahweh is faithful and enduring, making wise the simple.
His precepts are equitable and just, rejoicing the heart.
The terms of the covenant between Him and myself are without any impurities.
Reverencing Yahweh has a cleansing effect that endures.
His judicial requirements are faithful into perpetuity.
More to be desired than gold...
Moreover, thy servant is forewarned and enlightened.
And in observing them, there is great reward.
